Wet Work

There is so much need in Sierra Leone that the WellFound team has continued working, where possible, during the rainy season. One village which the team visited recently is Kpeteworma, in the Moyamba district of Sierra Leone. It is around 40 miles from the nearest town. The community has a population of 382 and relies on local streams and pools for their water.

This is one of the communities where we will be working in the coming months. There are already showing great enthusiasm for the work and have started to save some money to emphasize their commitment to the project.

The cashbook of savings made so far.

During our visit we met Fatmata Donnie (the young girl with the red top in the photograph below). She must collect water each morning and carry out other household chores. Then she must walk over 5 miles to the nearest school before repeating the water collection in the evening.

Look out over the next few months for updates from Kpeteworma as the lives of Fatmata and other children are transformed by access to clean water.
