Christmas 2020: a year and a Christmas like no other. Whilst we may not be able to spend this Christmas with our loved ones, we are able to connect through social media and video calling. Without the power of the internet to keep us connected even when we are apart, this year would have been immensely more difficult.
The same is true for our friends in Guinea Bissau and Sierra Leone. With the ability to communicate with our staff remotely and connect with our supporters online, we have been able to continue and even ramp up our activities to provide support for those who need it most. Despite the especially challenging conditions which this year has thrown at us, our staff on the ground are more determined and working harder than ever to provide access to water, sanitation, nutrition, and vital healthcare access for the people whom we work with. No communities have been left untouched from the effects of the pandemic, whether that be from the virus itself or from the huge increases in food prices which these communities have seen, often meaning that families are going hungry.
This year has not been easy for anyone. If you are in a position to help this year, there is no better opportunity than the Big Give Christmas Challenge, where your donations will be doubled at no extra cost to you. One donation can have twice the impact. If you would like to join us and donate this year, please donate via the Big Give website using the link below, any time between 12:00 PM on 1 December 2020 until 12:00 PM, 8 December.
The link to donate is donate.thebiggive.org.uk
Any and all donations are truly appreciated and as always, 100% of every penny raised will be going directly to the projects in Guinea Bissau and Sierra Leone.
