It is at this time of the year that we thank our Lord for all that we at WellFound achieved in 2016, we thank our Trustees and supporters, our CEO and our teams at our offices in Greenford UK and in Guinea Bissau, West Africa.
2016 was a year of growth and change with new members joining us in the Greenford office and change starting in Bissau. Our work in six of the islands in the Bijagos Archipelago off Guinea Bissau, the installation of our first solar pump will result in continuous water for the village of Tamar and hopefully many more installations to come.
All this is due to your support, without which none of this would be possible.
2017 gives promise of great things to come, we have strengthened our fund raising team and our website is being revamped with the aid of David Horncastle one of our Trustees. Another of our Trustees, Gill Shaw, the internationally renowned photographer, is working to present a photo gallery of our work in Bissau. This will be on display in London.
We will endeavour to buy land and build a small factory and store with offices in Bissau so that the students from the 80 or so villages in which we have worked may be instructed how to repair the pumps of their wells and build latrines. We already have a store with spare parts so that our engineers can carry out repairs.
Our CEO Antony Kingsley and his staff are applying for a grant so that our work in Guinea Bissau will continue and we can save and change lives. The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London carried out a study for WellFound to evaluate the countries that would most benefit from our work. They arrived at a short list of three, one of which we will carry out further exploratory tests upon, with the intention of saving more lives in that country. We are privileged to have a member of that team employed in our office.
The investments that the Measham Family Christian Foundation made available to WellFound still continue to provide income which completely funds all of the expenses in our Greenford office so that we can proudly say that 100% of all donations go to our work in Africa. This has been the case since the foundation of WellFound and will continue to be so.
Thank you for your support. WellFound will continue to go forward and upward.
All at WellFound wish you a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year.
Howard Measham.
